Double Head industrial Edger for corrective lenses. Automatic - 2 lenses per cycle.
It covers all the cutting & the finishing requirements on ophthalmic lenses,  including: straight and inclined bevel with safety bevel and polishing, rimless with polishing (inclined & straight), safety bevels, holes and notches, groove with polshing and safety bevels (nylor), T bevel, special assemblies for high curvature of sunglasses frames (0 to 16 base), etc. It allow to increase the production rate of your lab with the usual quality of MEI industrial edger.

Thanks to the four heads loading arm, the edger is able to work 2 lens per cycle with a very low down time, increasing the productivity of your lab. The bar code reader, the standard OMA connection and the link with the full stack loader (70 + 70 position) or a convey belt, they allow to automate the entire edging process of your lab.

Production rate

The milling technology and the 4 axes allow the machine to perform any kind of shape with any angle. Also the step back or high base (up to base 16!) in some sport lenses is not a problem. Easy to use
The traditional shape can be performed just calling the job (digit the number or reading the bar code). The operator is trained to drawn any sport and fashion lenses with Tecnocam software. It’s no longer the time of skilled workers that work manually special edge.
 
No obsolescence
The frame of the machines allow any software and tools updating. In this way the lab can use always the last version of the edge. In case the future eyewear requirement asked new edge types won’t be necessary to change the edger (with new investment) but updating software and some part of the hardware the edger will be able to perform new solution. Besides, the industrial structure of the edger grant a long life time. Just try to set a long-term strategy in your business.
 
Accuracy
The milling process and the measurement feeler allow to arise the higher accuracy of the finishing. The complete automate cutting process grant the perfect mirroring of both lenses. Reducing waste products
The mirroring help you to perform two perfectly identical lenses. Besides the milling process, using a tenth of force on the lens compared with grinding process, and the Double Drive allow to work any hydrophobic lenses without any risk to rotate them or damage the coated surface (also the protection tape is not necessary). Finally it’s a save of money that affect the bottom line of your business.
 
Reducing maintenance costs
The industrial structure of the machine needn’t so much assistance and maintenance. The operator is trained to replace the material subject to wear by himself; and the costs of the tools is cheap. Almost all those requirements of the clients has solved by phone or remote control. Besides, thanks at the dry cutting process the water consumption is minimum. All these features reduce remarkably the maintenance costs. Currently how much do you pay for that?
 
Compatible with any devices
All our edger use standard OMA protocol. OMA language is worldwide used in ophthalmic field so the edge software is open to be interfaced with any devises or lab software management. In this way our clients can install our machine without to worry about the present and future configuration of their labs. It means no need to replace devices just bought.

Approximate cycle times (per job or two lenses)

The lens/hour production depend of a lot of factors (size, thickness, coating, base of the lens – kind of edge performed – etc.). For this reason we prefer to state the cycle time per lens (or job), so you can compare with the cycle time of your machinery. For these measurements we used 5 to 8 mm thickness, base 6, box about 50x30, no coating lens. Should you need for more information regarding cycle time, please don’t hesitate to ask us.

Full Stack loader for Loh trays 70+70 positions

This device allow to increase the autonomy of the machine. Thanks to a stack managing system, give the possibility to load stacks of trays, and to run it automatically if they have a properly barcode and the cutting information stored into the machine or into your server.The system is composed by two different devices placed on the two sides of the machine conveyor belt. The de-stacker is placed behind the operator’s side; a correspondingly stacker is located on the operator’s side. Both have enough room to stack 70 trays, and all pneumatic devices to run them automatically through the machine. There is also a version for different trays or 40+40 positions.
