This unit performs the engraving of visible marks on all plastic lenses. The engraving is
obtained using a CO2 laser source with a short focal distance scanning head. To compensate the
small laser working area the lens is supported by three axes cnc device that hold the lens through
the edging block and can place the marking area in the most convenient position in front of the
marking head.
The loading unloading could be manual through a pneumatic door, or automatic by standard VCA
tray.
The management of the job uses a standard OMA connection and load the engraving programs
already prepared in the maker control unit under the TRX tecnocam format. The TRX engraving
programs are loaded using the standard oma FRAM code.
The Marker control unit is equipped with Mei Job setup interface and Mei Tecnocam interface,
adapted for engraving pourpose, as well as a program to import and modify the patterns with common
formats like BMP, JPG, DXF.
The engraving can be done in any place of the front and back curve, except for the area
covered by the edging block.

Technical description
Base machine
Main base structure in painted steel, with leveling feet, outside panels and doors with
security in the setup and maintenance areas.

Co2 laser unit whit liquid cooling system, focal distance 80 mm, spot size about 120
micron.
Lens holder device composed by a linear axe to move the lens from the loading area to the
marking area and to adjust the focal distance, a horizontal rotating axe to place the lens surface
normal to the engraving bean in the marking area and vertical rotating axe to place the lens shape
in the correct position for the engraving.

Automatic loading system
The automatic loading system is composed by a standard conveyor belt designed for standard VCA
tray and the system to transfer the lens from the tray to the marking support and back to the
tray.
The conveyor belt is equipped with three stops, the tray locking system and the barcode
reader.
The system that does the lens transfer is a double arm sucker operated by pneumatic
cylinders.
The suckers move up and down and the lens support does the horizontal movements to allow the
sucker to go down on the tray and then to reach the lens from the sucker.
The movements follow the opposite sequence while the engraving is finished
With the automatic loading system the manual loading door could not be installed because the
space for the manual loading is occupied by the pneumatic loaders.
