Today
SPHERA2 PLUS represents the
ideal solution for lenses and masks cutting made of plastic material, for anyone needing an
excellent degree of finishing combined with high productivity, low maintenance costs, ease of use
and reliability.
These appreciated prerogatives make
SPHERA2 PLUS the
indispensable machine for any companies involved in the manufacture of both frames and
lenses, if they want to keep up with competition in the optical branch.
Thanks to our long-lasting experience in the optical branch and, in general, in the
automation field, during the design and development stage of the machine we have carefully analysed
the market requirements and particularly those of the major producers.
The result is a lens cutting system that is today adopted by the major producers of
spectacles in Italy and throughout the world to their full satisfaction.
The
SPHERA2 PLUS work centre is best suited to cut and shape sun lenses, masks, and demo lenses
with holes and grooves of any kind, and finish the edge both by bevelling and rounding, with
a nylor groove or also rimless.
The
SPHERA2 PLUS processes all types of lens in plastic material: CR39, Poly, Apx, etc.
It can machine spherical lenses with basis from 4 to 16, both decentralized and not, as well
as cylindrical, toric and double-surface toric lenses, masks with basis from 4 to 7.
The
SPHERA2 PLUS work centre machines 2 lenses at the same time per cycle , which can be lenses
of different shapes, of different curves and of different materials and have different edge finish.
SPHERA2 PLUS operates in full-automatic mode by picking up the rough lenses from two
self-levelling loaders and unloading the finished lenses onto a collecting conveyor belt.
SPHERA2 PLUS features the lowest possible cycle times for its category, an extraordinary
cutting quality with all materials and extremely moderate operating costs.
The
SPHERA2 PLUS work centre is equipped with a powerful and intuitive Cad/Cam software for the
programming and, when fitted with a series of useful accessories, it immediately gets into the
claims of large and small companies in the optical branch.

2.1) automatic stack loader:
allow the machine to work in automatic mode; the blanks are stored in a couple of vertical
adjustable stores; it is composed by a vertical elevator, a couple of masks adjustable stores and a
couple of adjustable lens stores.
Each loader is adjustable in X and Y direction and when the stores are empty the machine
prepare itself to release them to be filled; during the vertical stores filling the machine remains
stopped, but extra stores are available like accessory.
2.2) automatic chain loader:
allow the machine to work in automatic mode; the blanks are loaded in small stack of
1-10 pieces (depending of the blank attitude to be placed in a stack). The chain loader has a
loading area outside the machine, then it’s possible to load it without stop the machine;
the chain loader could be adjusted for polycarbonate lens (positive pin), Cr39 lens(negative
pin) and masks with different curvature and size. On the loading arm there is a device that allow
to adjust the blank loading position, in order to get correct optical axes on decentred
lenses.
3.1) End mill preset:
it measures the length of the end mills and facilitates the machining set up. It is
indispensable to cancel the idle times for replacing the end mills during the production.
3.2) Additional lens vertical stores:
it’s composed by a couple of extra adjustable vertical store for lenses. It’s suitable only
for the vertical loading system item 2.1.
3.3) Additional masks vertical stores:
it’s composed by a couple of extra adjustable vertical store for lenses. It’s suitable only
for the vertical loading system item 2.1.
3.4) Manual drawer:
it’s prepared for the manual loading of the kind of blanks that are not loadable with the
loading system 2.1 or 2.2. It’s composed by a drawer manually moved back and forward where is
possible to fix any kind of special blank centring devices.
3.5) Tool changer:
it allow automatic tool change during the cycle; it’s composed by a couple of independent
tool changing groups, with three places each, that moves with pneumatic actuators. Each station is
equipped with such kind of device.
208V - 3 phases - 5 kW - 13,88 A
480V - 3 phases - 5 kW - 6.01 A
